A breton Bronte (and Bardot)

breton Bronte

I love the breton or mariner top. When I went to Mont St-Michel 5 years ago, I was determined to get a breton tee from Brittany. I didn't care that it would be ridiculously expensive and cheaply made. It would be a breton tee from Brittany. Sadly, it was not to be. I scoured Paris after that trip, but only found a striped tee in my last week. It wasn't quite what I was looking for: thick knit and short dolman sleeves with white binding and buttons at the shoulders. No matter; I bought it. For five long years that has been my only taste of bretony goodness. Clearly, I needed to rectify the situation.

Time again to wear outfits: MMMay15

It's getting close to that time of year again where I take pictures of me wearing things that I've made. In other words...

me-made-may'14

I, aem2 of PhysicsGirl on the Loose, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May '15. I endeavour to wear at least two me-made or refashioned items (sewn, crochet, or jewellery) each day for the duration of May 2015. Furthermore, I plan to not plan what I'm going to wear.

Let me explain that last part. For the previous Me-made Mays I carefully planned each day's outfit in advance to make sure I had something for everyday, but this is not how my sartorial life usually works. So this year, I want to fly by the seat of my... er, me-made trousers. I should have enough separates to make this work, although I have a feeling that we will be seeing a lot of the Thurlow trousers since as yet I only have one pair...

The other part of the pledge is to finish all my UFOs. Which means that come May 31 the Spring Steppes sweater from two years ago will either be finished or frogged.

As usual, I will use Fat Mum Slim's photo prompts to guide the daily photos and show you around Toronto a bit. It looks like she's doing weekly lists, so planning locations without repetition will be more challenging.

Bring it.
