Eight Days a Week: MMM16 week 1
This year's MMM will be interesting because I'm not going into to work so I have no real reason to get out of my jammies other than to go outside and take pictures. Which, I'm hoping, will help get me out of my jammies. I've committed to wearing at least two me-made or refashioned items every day, with no more than one repeat per week, and make at least one item per week while finishing all my UFOs. This will be no problem, right? I'll be posting photos daily in the Flickr group and going into more detail on my weekly wrap-ups here. This week has eight days because for me, the week ends on Sunday. As always, I'm following Fat Mum Slim's photo prompts.
I've also been taking the opportunity to catch up, timey-wimey wise, on some old blog posts and I've linked to a bunch of them below. Really, my aim is to keep you from doing whatever it is you should be doing by taking you on a kind of wiki walk.

FESA15 final report card -- sort of
At this time of year, I'm usually pulling together report cards for first term. I'm not exactly missing that piece of fun, but it does seem fitting to grade myself on my FESA15 plan and execution. Marks are awarded for finishing on time and the quality of the final product; process mistakes don't count if I've fixed them. Items that were already cut out are scored only out of 10 since that part usually takes me as long as the rest of it.
But before I get into details, here's the thing: I haven't sewn anything since the middle of October. My childhood home is on the market, and helping Aged P sort out 53 years' worth of house has been more exhausting than I anticipated. Days where I didn't help her were pretty much spent in my jammies catching up on my 50 book pledge.
I am even missing blog posts for things I did complete but haven't finished writing up *cough*wedding dress*cough*. I decided to go ahead and post this anyway (timey-wimey-wise) and rescue the others from draft when I have time and pictures.
On with the report card!

You can blame me for the continuing cold. My bad.
Pre-script: I finally put some posts up about my polka dot Marfy 1913 and the Rosemary and Wine sweater wot I made two and one months ago. Click on the pictures to read them. Go ahead. I'll wait. Or don't. Your call, really.

It has been cold for so long here, that on Monday during March Break when it went up to 12 degrees (Celsius, baby), it was cause for celebration. Except I spent most of it inside making a sweater for colder temperatures and hoping I'd be able to wear it. Which is probably why the temperature dropped 10 degrees the next day and has stayed around freezing for the rest of the month. Oops. My bad.
I took these pictures by the lake at the beginning of my abbreviated macarondonnée on the first day of spring and let's just say I should have left the gloves on. The harbour was solid ice and there was a brisk wind. It was chilly.

I need to learn to use my power wisely.

Steath posting
First of all: 5000 views! I know they can't all be Aged P, so thank you for taking the time to read my blog.
Second, I have been stealth-posting some older tales and starting my recent London trip posts. Waaaay back in April, I went on the first Cupcake Ride of the season and the inaugural Toronto Easter Parade: Cupcakes and Easter Bonnets.
In June, I went to the Cambridge Butterfly Observatory: In which PhysicsGirl is covered in butterflies and eats bugs.
I've also started writing up my adventures in London this past July. I know, right?
Tuesday in London: In which PhysicsGirl, though jet-lagged, tries to find a cream tea
I have several things still to write up, but that should be enough to be going on with. School is starting in a few weeks, and you know what that means.
Business as usual, actually.

In which PhysicsGirl celebrates someone else's birthday, for a change: Utilitaire-12 #5
Utilitaire-12 task #5: Bike to dinner = Friar & Firkin pre-skating & improv.
Having used the wayback machine to blog about the first four Utilitaire-12 tasks, I'm back in the present day. You can read about the previous challenges here: #1, #2, #3, & #4. While you're at it, you can read about my Birthday Nonad, which sounds kinda rude but really wasn't.
All the cool kids have their birthdays in February, and Friday was no exception. I had two birthdays to celebrate in Toronto alone. T was having a skating party and D was in the Black Swan improv semi-finals. I planned to meet M for dinner before the skating and we settled on the Friar & Firkin at Queen W and John.

Wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff
I'm not "doing" this blog thing properly. I start a post and then get distracted by something shiny and go away for a bit, leaving the post unfinished and unposted. But then I go back days, weeks, and in the case of my Europe trip posts, years later and finish them. Naturally, I want to keep the posts in their proper chronological place.
Personally, I have no problem shoving "new" posts in old spots. Put it down to my being a nonlinear person. Dr. Who* explains it best.
In other words, it's my diary and I'll post how I like.
Alas, this creates a conundrum as the blog world is terribly linear. When I post something from the past, it won't show up in blog readers. It does get posted to Facebook, eventually, which no doubt plays havoc with the timeline**, and to Twitter, but for people who are sitting on the edge of their seats, anxiously awaiting the next installment, what to do? Simple.

Look! New posts!
I've put up posts and pictures of my trip to the Loire Valley and my trip to Mont St-Michel. The pictures from my week of the museum pass, including the rest of the Loire Valley pix, will take a bit longer to go through. I'll let you know when they are up.
There are a few other posts about daily life and the exciting thing that happened on top of l'Arc de Triomphe sprinkled in as well.
My Mont St-Michel pictures are here:

I'm getting there...
I'm posting my write-ups under the dates they happened, so you may not have noticed that I've put up two posts about my first day in Amsterdam, which are here and here. The next day is coming, I swear. There is a very amusing story involving clogs. I bet you can't wait.
Edited: I have been making sure my photos are up-to-date as of yesterday. I've been adding to my various albums. Unfortunately, Picasa won't let me start an album in the middle, so here is what you have to do: Click on the album title under the picture, then find that photo again in the album (you may have to scroll down a bit), click on the photo again. Then you can navigate forward and backward through the album from the new point. (Or you could just click on the first picture to go through all the pictures in the album.) Either way, it's a pain.
You've already seen my first day walk, but I've been walking around a lot since I got here. I explored Ile de la Cité a bit more:
the Latin Quarter:
and Montmartre:
I've also been on a great bike tour:
(These are all in the same album, so you could just click once to see the whole thing.)
I've also experienced some culture: I went to the Musée National du Moyen Age (dit Cluny):
and to Chartres Cathedral:
This coming week is museum week. I've got me a pass and I'm gonna use it. I have a feeling I'll be a little museumed out by next Sunday.
