First 50 km training ride...

...and I feel really good! Maybe this thing is doable after all.

The supremely crazy part of this idea is not so much that I’m doing it at all, but that I’m trying to do it in such a short time frame.

I reworked a somewhat shorter route that winds up going near Aged P’s house, which got me thinking that if I could just start at her place in the morning, that would knock 14 km off the ride. Then I thought “Wouldn’t it be nice if she could drive me to a starting place like north of Orangeville, it would knock another 80 km off my route.” Since the goal is really to get to Lake Huron, I’m totally happy with anything which saves me time and distance.

Then Aged P, who by the way is on record as thinking this trek is a Really Bad Idea but, since she is the best of Aged Ps, knows when to not go on about it, anyway Aged P asked out of the blue if I’d like to be picked up somewhere or dropped off! I love her!

Little does she know I’m planning on leaving at 4 am.

Next training ride tomorrow.
