So after shamelessly exposing my ignorance of local geography and sticking close to home in my coffeneuring outings, I decided to go to a completely different part of the city. Not only that, but I went all the way over to the east side. I mean, I crossed a river, people. It was raining. I trekked.

Destination: Leslieville.
Thanks to some hurricane or other looming over the horizon, we had a lot of rain this past weekend. We could have given the coffeuring a miss, but we are nothing if not intrepid. The DC and I geared up for the journey. Rather like Scott of the Antarctic. With somewhat better results.

We started at Nathalie-Roze & Co, where I gots of ideas for felted hats that I will probably never make, given how long it's taking me to felt the one I have on my plate. We then popped into the Arts Market and Pied à Terre and I'd just like to say there are some incredibly talented craftspeople in this city. And also I need to go back for that second pair of earrings from Chain Maille by Rhonda.

My real reason for coming to Leslieville was to use my gift certificate at Doll Factory by Damzels. Which I did. And am plotting to divert part of the food budget into the clothes budget so I can get that other dress that Kelly said "Oh, you have to try this one on too! You'll look so great in it!"*

We poked into a few more antique stores but then the cold started getting to us, so we headed to Mercury Espresso for warm beverages and pastries.

When I ordered the DC's latte, the barista looked at me ironically and said "Did you just say 'grande!?'" I had to assure him that I would never say that. I am not a hipster, but I can pass if need be.
The rain had intensified somewhat during our leisurely stroll, so we decided to head home and get our stomachs around something warm and filling. We'll have to come back some other, slightly drier, day to continue the exploration.
Mileage: 17.6 km/11 miles

*Which I did. And now I need that dress. That woman is evil, I tell you.
