Surrounded by tradition... with opposable thumbs...

Happy Canada Day!

Last night, the DC and I went to a friend's house for a BBQ (a fine tradition) where thanks to all the bananas for no good reason because bananas apparently don't attract them more than anything else I got eaten alive by mosquitos (sadly, another tradition) and we lost our hip attitudes and were completely enthralled by a family of four raccoons that were playing in the trees in the backyard (tradition with furry masks and nimble fingers).

Lock up your garbage and have a lovely holiday for those of you who celebrate it.

  1. Heee! Looks awfully familiar. I didn't see, but heard (maybe that guy) last night, knocking over and sifting through my neighbour's garbage box. Luckily, they keep it on the other side of the fence, mere inches away from my window.

    1. We've been really lucky here with them not digging through our compost. At my mom's we had to deal with a family of raccoons in our attic; the sound of raccoon babies still sends a shudder down my spine.
