Of architcture and art: Coffeeneuring #2

tampered press
Monday was Thanksgiving, and since my family usually celebrates on the Sunday, I had the day free to get some marking done and test one of the routes for the Tweed Rally (Come! It will be fun!).

First I biked out to the Dundas Street East bridge over the Don River to take pictures of my cherry Sorbetto, but then I headed off to visit some of the 19th century gems we've got on our manifest. I don't want to spoil the surprise, so here are a few architectural hints:

Since I was out and about, I decided to catch Ai Weiwei's Forever Bicycle at Nathan Phillip's Square, which tiredness prevented me from seeing during Nuit Blanche the previous weekend. It's pretty amazing.

There are rather more pictures in my urban art album:

As I was leaving, I saw "The Rose is Without Why" by Boris Achour.
The rose is without why.
It says something deep and meaningful about the place of the spectator, but it also makes for excellent physics photos.

Having cultured myself up, I was off for the coffee part of coffeeneuring. On my way home, I stopped in at The Tampered Press across from Trinity-Bellwoods. They have lovely big tables where you can work for quite a while.
labs
As per the sign outside, I had a yummy but not especially coconutty coconut latte and one of their awesome corn cookies. I had brought some marking to do. Sadly, I managed to mark a grand total of two labs in the scant hour I was there before they closed.

As I promised, I'm not really following my planned destinations. Oh well. What wild and adventurous thing will I do next week?

Mileage (approximate due to a bunch of turning and a little backtracking, but it's 13.6 km to and from the bridge): 15 km/9.3 miles
