The plan was to meet up with the DC at the Bazaar of the Bizarre for a bit, then stop in at one of several potential coffee shops on my way home. When I walked through the door, however, I saw that the second part of the plan would be unnecessary.

Thanks to SugarWink, I could invoke the open-air-even-if-its-technically-inside rule. The rule especially holds if there are pumpkin-spice cupcakes. Or, it should.

The nice people taking my money were a bit surprised when I said I was only to take half a cup of coffee but pay full price. Little did they know that I was going to fill the other half up with milk to make my standard café-au-lait because coffee is too strong by itself.
Thus fortified, we went off to see the booths and spend money.

The Mental Floss Sideshow had some very nifty things:

Brazen Razor has so much that is good. I love Thea's lipbalms; they are in stick form (key), but go on like the stuff in a pot without being greasy. And her flavours are both unusual and great - absinthe, anyone?

Full disclosure: Thea is a friend, but we buy everything we get from her. The DC loves her shaving soap (and I love its smell). Her soaps leave your skin silky soft and they smell so good.
Okay, enough plugging. Buy all the things if you run across Brazen Razor at a farmer's market or craft fair.
Funny story: the DC grabbed a tin of what he thought was shaving soap, only to discover that it was hair pomade. Which he is not exactly in the market for. Hee.
Onward.
I couldn't take a lot of pictures since I was still nursing my coffee and my other hand was soon full of bag filled with the presents I was busy acquiring for the particularly-hard-to-shop-for persons on my list, but I had to get this shot. Sadly, you can't really see the name of the booth.

While I wasn't looking for anything for myself, I couldn't resist these earrings by Strange Dames.

So now I have something to wear when I sew. Just what I needed.

I had done a reasonable amount of damage, so it was time to head home to make cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving dinner. I had a gorgeous ride home, enjoying the beginning of leaf change.
Here's to another successful coffeneuring challenge!

P.S. I wanted to avoid my usual complaining about lack of bike parking once you get off the main roads, but Bathurst is hardly a side street. 918 Bathurst should request a bunch of bike rings or install a good bike rack, given the types of events they tend to host.
I love the little owls! So cute!
ReplyDeleteThey were! And only $5, too.
