Sated: Errandonées #8 & 9

The DC and I have been craving bibimbap for some time, and since we live a stone bowl's throw from Koreatown it's ridiculous how long it's taken us to get some. Friday night we finally got ourselves organized enough to visit Korean Village Han Kuk Kwan Restaurant.

Continuing with my attempts to be positive, the temperatures shot back up above zero today. I got to wear my fabulous cape, and the windrow disappeared. Again.

I love biking to dinner, particularly when you can stop off at the library on the way to pick up a bunch of DVDs for your Miyazaki marathon*, scoot past all the cars crawling along, and find parking right outside the restaurant, all in about 20 minutes. And also because it builds up an appetite for the yumminess to come...

stone bowl
I think I prefer stone bowl when the egg is cracked into the bowl and cooks as you stir it in, but this was a very close second. And filling. Holy cow. I had to roll myself out of the booth.

It's a good thing we got there early; by the time we left the line was out the door. We'll be back. I may even abandon my usual birthday dinner at New Generation Sushi to come here instead; they have rooms for large parties.

We biked westward into incredibly fierce winds. The cape did not help. We still passed most of the cars, stopping at Nova Era bakery for some coffee and cookie and reading.

Then it was home to begin our Miyazaki marathon mini-marathon double-feature.

Errandonée tally
Dinner: Korean Village Restaurant (2.7 km/1.7 mi via library)
Coffee/Dessert: Nova Era Bakery (2.3 km/1.4 mi)

Mileage left: 12.7 km/7.9 mi
Categories left: 0 (4 for my personal goal of hitting every category at least once)

*Well, not really. The DC can barely get through 2 movies in a row. We'll have to build up his tolerance.
