Pi Day is also the first day of this year's March Break. My usual modus operandi for the holiday is to laze around at the beginning, then rush around like a madwoman near the end trying to get stuff done. I thought I'd try a different strategy this time.
It sort of worked. I totally lazed this morning, then, realizing I would have to get a move on if I wanted to get some errands in before going to see a movie. Now, normally, I would have probably let the errands go in favour of not getting dressed, but... Errandonnée!
The Errandonnée: good for my social life and for Getting Stuff Done.
Not only Stuff, but Stuff That I've Been Meaning To Do For A Good Long While. Like take about $50 in rolled nickels and dimes to the bank (partially exchanged for $25 in loonies).

Turns out $50 in tiny coins is a lot heavier than twice $25 in loonies.
Next, I was off to run the errand that I've been trying to run since last week: exchange wool and buy some much-needed crochet hooks. For once in my crocheting life, I didn't take that long to choose new wool. The crochet hooks, on the other hand, took forever because I didn`t see they had moved them to a different wall.

Alas and alack, when I eventually got home at the end of the day, I discovered that one of the three crochet hooks had disappeared somewhere. And that I didn't need to buy two of them anyway, because I already have hooks that size. Guess which one I don't already have. Go on, guess.
Sigh.
After that, I decided that I really didn't have time to go to the next store, so I rode off to see Into the Woods at the Revue.

I'm thinking it was here that I lost that crochet hook. Ah well, anything can happen in the woods...
I quite enjoyed the film, but I felt it was missing something. It's a lot darker than the play, right from the beginning. Why so serious? And they cut one of my favourite lines: "Rapunzel! Rapunzel! ... What a strange name!"
(When I got home, I warned the DC that I would be singing songs from the show all evening and promptly launched into "On the Steps of the Palace" followed by "Agony." The DC was surprised and a little scared, because he didn't realize the movie was based on a musical that I've had memorized for ... a long time. Ahem. But he shouldn't be surprised in this age of YouTube; how does I think I learned "Let It Go" so quickly?)
Errandonée tally
Non-store: bank (1 km)
Store: Romni Wool (1.5 km)
A&E: Revue Cinema (5.9 km)
Total Mileage: 60.3 km/37.5 mi
Total Categories used: 7
