What do I do when it is almost-but-not-quite +1? Errandonnée on my bike without a face mask. And buy shoes, apparently. It was glorious.
Some friends had a clear-out-the-closets pop-up shop, and I went by to relieve one of them of her vintage glove collection. I may have also come away with a beaded 20s overdress, a 40s-retro blouse pattern, and a terrific pair of Irregular Choice red heels. Can you believe I didn't have a pair of red heels before?
I loaded my basket with my booty and headed off to buy printer ink. The ride to the pop-up proved to be just slightly too chilly for a single pair of thinnish gloves, but I had a pair of liner gloves in my pocket, and adding those did the trick. I was somewhat sad to see big fat snowflakes. Fortunately, they melted immediately upon hitting the ground, so no slips.
My next stop was Fluevog. Now, I do not need more shoes. I don't. But someone posted a picture of the Revelations in blue, and I thought "wouldn't those be nice for the wedding."
Reader, I bought them.
They're a weird fit: narrow toe box but loose in the heel because of that cut-out. It took me a while to find the right size (my usual size plus toe pads; and you have to make sure you tie them very tightly). So long, in fact, that both the wool store and library were closed by the time I finished, so those errands will have to wait.
Once again I loaded up my basket and headed to my last stop of the day: the LCBO. I got the DC some of that fancy beer he likes and me some of that terribly-sweet cider that I like.
