Gracefully Saved: Errandonée #1

Errandonnee 2016
The Errandonée started on Friday, but I didn't get started until today. I celebrated by dragging the DC out of bed so we could catch an early table for brunch at Saving Grace. He was thrilled, so say the least.

Saving Grace

I've eaten there before, foolishly arriving at 11:30; your only recourse at that point is to put your name on the clipboard, go get a coffee, and chill for the 45 minute wait. The DC does not like waiting for food, so I made sure we were there about 15 minutes before it opened. Which meant that he was still waiting for food.

I'm working on that logic.

Anyway, I think at least for the initial seating they do a kind of triage with the food, preparing for example all the pancakes and sandwiches at the same time before moving on to the eggs (and all the fancy coffees well after the basic coffee) because we were practically finished eating before the people who were right in front of us in line got served.

Despite the fact that I kind of wanted eggs, I wasn't feeling any of the egg dishes and went with the pancakes. Sadly, they were oven baked pancakes, which were okay, but we know how I feel about that eggyness. The syrup was good, and the French toast with sauteed bananas was fantastic.

(The DC says that he doesn't think going out to brunch is any better than my making pancakes, which is sweet but doesn't take into account that when we go out to brunch, somebody else does all the prep work and cooking. I think he just wants to sleep in.)

Anyway, we seemed to have turned a bit of a corner, weather-wise. I've been avoiding the worst of it by not having to go out most days, but it does seem as if spring has sprung. Now we just have to dig out all the ring posts.
