Spring is finally here: MMM14 week 2

week 2 composite
me-made-may'14

I have been cautiously optimistic about spring actually arriving this week -- the temperatures stayed pretty much above 10 C, climbing into the early 20s by the end of the week. The Where in Toronto is PhysicsGirl guessing game continues. The prompts this week may be a bit more challenging, clue-wise, so I'll be a bit more verbose in the mouse-overs hints. Answers to last week's locations are in the mouse-over at the bottom.

4 PM

4 pm

This is one of those prompts that I wish were on any day other than a Monday because I stay at school until 5:30 before heading off to tap class. Strictly speaking, at 4 pm I was still knee-deep in students. However, I took a wee break a while later to take a picture somewhere other than the physics lab. Only I forgot my camera. So, yeah, composite.

Anyway, it was still chilly, so I'm wearing my Sylvia sweater again, even though it doesn't quite go with that lovely RTW polka-dot dress, and my cherry-blossom earrings. The sakura blossoms are late this year, by the way, so you'll have to wait a little longer for the annual bike photo.

Almost, but not quite, an up-skirt shot. The temperature dipped down again, and it was just a wee bit too cold for bare legs, but I was determined to not wear stockings. This is the LGRAB dress, which lived up to its name because I biked to and from work, then back downtown to meet the DC, then uptown to Eglinton (up Poplar Plains!) to avoid the worst of the subway crush before heading up to Sheppard. I accessorized with sweater and scarf because it turns out the v-neck gapes. A lot. Unbelievable. More &^%$@# unpicking.

I'm wearing my still unbuttoned, unblogged Saturn sweater and the teapot/cup earrings I refashioned last year.

Blue

I'm wearing my blueberry Sorbetto hack and my Bruised Candy Apple earrings. I wish I had made these trousers. I adore that embroidery on the hips. Perhaps I will finally make use of Aged P's incredible machine to make myself a similar pair.

The Friday Flickr challenge for this day was "blue;" ironically every thing me-made is not. I finally fixed the crotch and seat of my grey linen Thurlow trousers and hemmed them and put the hardware on and wore them. Not that you can see them at all in this picture. I'm also wearing my fluorite chandelier earrings.

I was presenting at Google Camp, so I'm wearing the fluorite earrings again because they go really nicely with my Pistachio Macaron. I'm still not entirely sure whether I should try lining it, because the itchiness factor is minimal, but present.

It was a glorious morning. We went to check out the sakura blossoms next to Robarts Library and take pictures of my Thurlows before swinging down to this location, then off to Nadege for petits-pains au chocolate and rose macarons, which we ate in Trinity Bellwoods. I'm also wearing my cherry blossom earrings (naturally) and my vanilla Sorbetto.
