Just not going to happen: MMM15 week 4

MMM15 week 4

me-made-may'14

I think we can say I've kind of failed at the challenge -- if by fail we mean "Did not do exactly what I pledged to do." I a) spent another day not wearing anything me-made and b) didn't even glance at the Bookcase of Shame*, where rest my UFOs. It's getting to crunch time at school, and frankly I've been trying to do all the marking and planning and my downtime has been spent reading. At this point I'm hoping that I average out to two items per day over the month and I'm going to put off the decision on the Spring Steppes sweater until June.

I feel pretty good about this. The job must come first, and this is not my job.

May 18

musical/
Kala Acai concert uke. "Musical"

I had planned to take this at the Music Garden, but it was Victoria Day and the DC had taken my bike and I was being super lazy. Which bodes well for next year, I must say. Anyway, I wore my tan check Thurlow shorts and my refashioned M*A*T*H tank. These things don't really go together. I need to replace the straps on this because they've stretched out in ways the DC likes but I... don't. Sigh. Up goes the UFO count.

My mood today
Mural on College Street. "My mood today..."

I'm wearing my grey linen Thurlows, my Oona eyelet Belcarra, and lest you think I'm a complete Sewaholic junkie**, my new will-blog-it-in-June blue lace Swoon cardi. Which I swear hangs evenly, despite what the picture tells you.

May 20

equal
The Annex. "Equal"

I met the DC for sushi before going to the season finale of Nerd Nite with a guy who left his "dream job" as a master builder with LEGO to strike out on his own, a magician's magician, and David Soknacki, with a really interesting talk about his spice business (including samples - let's just say that sriracha chips are not for the faint of heart). I'm wearing That Million Dolly Look dress and my long blue Swoon cardi.

May 21

in a drawer
Home, obviously. "In a drawer"

I had bit of a freakout today when I realized there were only 2 weeks left of school and I wasn't sure if I was going to get around to teaching the kids everything on the exam. (Spoiler alert: I will. We just don't have time to review it properly since the admin moved the exam dates up by a week.) I wore my "floral" Belcarra and to-be-blogged bronze block chandelier earrings.

May 22

weather/alt
Mural on Harbord. There are a lot of murals on Harbord. "Weather/Animals"

I'm wearing my blue Belcarra and the aquamarine and fluorite chunky chandeliers. This look (sans jean jacket) will also be immortalized in the teacher video I'm making for the farewell assembly (to this song.)

May 23

Electrical box outside Dufferin Mall. "Good times"

I'm wearing my Lekala skirt to go grocery shopping. Today was supposed to be a two-fer, since I was planning on wearing my Victory Vogue out dancing, but when it came down to it, I didn't feel like going out. I will wear that dress dancing eventually.

May 24

Nothing. The prompt was "Rule of thirds", which would have been lovely, but I spent yet another Sunday in my jammies (not even my Tofinos), marking, and not even thinking about leaving the house to take a picture.

UFOs F'd

Oh, don't make me laugh. In fact, since I really need to fix that tank top, this number has increased.

June. I'll get to this stuff in June. Or July. Whenever this work thing goes away.

Geeky stats:
Me-mades: 6/7; Refashioned: 1/7; Sewing: 9; Crochet: 0; Earrings: 2; UFOs f'd: 0/15
Monthly total: Me-mades: 22/24; Refashioned: 3/24 Sewing: 36; Crochet: 0; Earrings/Jewellery: 12; UFOs f'd: 4/19

*This is a total lie. I can hardly help looking at the Bookcase of Shame. But I am diligently ignoring it.

**Which, let's face it, I probably am.

  1. I'm inviting myself over to your place this summer and we're going to sit and fix UFOs while talking and having a drink. I'm serious. Let's!!!

    1. It's a date. We can sew on the deck. (Although a bunch of these UFOs need to be finished before I can sew anything new, which means I'm hoping to have them cleared once exams are done in June.)
